A not to miss course if you want to get the big picture about ruby on rails. I also take the second version an now i feel more mature and take time to test every line of code i write.

Taking Course Now

This course is the second part of CS169.1x. Together, they cover the most important topics of SaaS development, giving a brief overview of each topic and showing the workflow of professional web development from start to finish.
The course teaches Agile development approach and uses currently the most efficient technologies in the field: Ruby on Rails, Cucumber, RSpec, Git etc. After finishing it I won't be a web professional but I will have a clear idea of what to learn and how to organize my work.
The homework is not easy and topics are covered too briefly to just give a direction for further investigation.
You must know basic HTML and OOP programming to be able to understand it.
Personally, this was the most unique and enlightening learning experience for me especially compared to other online courses. I think that knowledge about best practices and how tools are used by professionals is invaluable.

Completes the SaaS course as offered to on campus Berkeley students. As expected, the assignments are demanding but doable. After taking HCI (Coursera), SaaS I and SaaS II I am about to offer my full stack web design and development skills to the real world.

CS169.1 was easy but time demanding. CS169.2 is not even time demanding. The lectures are pretty good but the homework are really without any depth. For example the last homework requires only 2 lines of code.
This is the 6th online course that I complete and this is the worst for the moment due essentially to how bad are the homework.

An excellent continuation of 169.1x - homeworks sometimes a bit too difficult for someone with my (amateur) ranking, and some of the topics a bit too specialized, but overall another great lesson from prof. Fox and Patterson!
